I often get people asking me why I chose the pseudonym “zorac”. Actually, that’s a lie; people very rarely ask me that, but I’m going to tell you anyway. It’s nothing to do with Space Ghost (that’s Zorak) and there’s definitely no connection to the acne cream. The actual source is a character from a favourite series of science fiction novels. In the Giants trilogy by James P. Hogan, Zorac is an alien starship computer with a sense of humor, and a catchphrase which is the source of this blog’s name.
The logo comes from an advert for Escape from Monkey Island, spoofing the Phantom Menace teaser poster wher young Anakin casts the shadow of Darth Vader. Alas, it proved to be something of a let-down after the first three installments in the series – come to think of it, that applies to both the Star Wars movies and the Monkey Island games…
