The reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise was probably my favourite game from 2015, not least because it appealed to my inner femslasher. So much so, that it inspired my to do my first bit of writing since the glory days of the Harry Potter fandom. The core idea was the pivotal moment in my headcanon where Lara finally realises her true feelings towards Sam – the pure anguish in her voice, and the grim determination and downright ruthlessness she displays afterwards. The idea actually came to me while I was on a weekend away, and I had a couple of hours alone in the holiday cottage. Naturally, the only thing I had to write on was my mobile: a Nokia attempt at a Blackberry clone which was really just a feature-phone with delusions of grandeur. So the first draft of this was written on a tiny screen and even tinier keyboard. It was only later that I realised I had no way of getting the damned text off…
